Cytokines are small soluble proteins secreted by cells that can alter the behavior or properties of the secreting cell itself or of another cell. In this section, we will be discussing interleukins, interferons, and tumor necrosis factor.

Interleukins: Interleukins (IL) are molecules that are secreted by, and act on leukocytes.
